Why Belgian chocolate? Only chocolate made in Belgium is used. While other countries can produce good chocolate, we found that Belgian chocolate makes the best Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

When Häagen-Dazs set out to develop the ultimate chocolate ice cream, we worked with the world's chocolate authorities to select the perfect chocolate. Year by year, cacao beans may take on different flavor notes due to the weather so to ensure a consistent, high quality taste, we blend our cacao to match our Gold Standard, similar to how a vintner selects his grapes to blend each year.
